Explore Krakow, Polish finest city, and cycle, raft and walk your way through the
Slovakian High Tatras on this action-packed Poland and Slovakia family adventure.
Slovakia’s mountains and National Parks are the perfect playground for kids and
adults to explore canyons, peaks, and flora and fauna-filled meadows.
An exhilarating downhill bike ride takes you to the historic town of Kezmarok, before
a cable car ride up into the mountains for a family-friendly trek, complete with
chamois hopping around the rocks.
Taking to the water, you’ll splash around on the Dunajec River, which forms the
natural border with Poland, on your rafting trip.
We’ve also found time to fit in some cultural visits – including a visit to the UNESCO
World Heritage Site of Levoca and Spissky Castle – which will give you a flavour of
the Slovakian way-of-life today and in times gone by.

Day 1: Arrival in Krakow, Poland. You will be met by your tour leader at the hotel for
an introductory briefing. Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day is free to

Day 2: Exploring Krakow by foot, afternoon optional trip to Wieliczka salt mines.
Krakow is a UNESCO World Heritage City, famous for its beautifully preserved Old
Town. Explore three kilometres of city walls, 46 spires, countless historical buildings,
narrow streets, churches and Europe´s biggest medieval market square. We’ve
included a guided tour before a free afternoon to take an optional trip to Wieliczka
Salt Mine, a labyrinth of underground caves, tunnels and halls. Meals included:

Day 3: Rafting and cycling in one of Europe´s longest canyons, afternoon transfer to
Tatranska Lomnica. Today is a full day’s multi-activity adventure! Transfer to Pieniny
National Park and explore the Dunajec Gorge, one of the longest canyons in Europe.
Then it’s time to take to the water for an easy rafting trip down the Dunajec River,
which forms a natural border with Slovakia. The scenery is beautiful as it passes you
by and the kids will surely make the most of splashing their parents as the raft idles
along…! The waterway takes us to our next destination, Lesnica, where we refuel
with lunch, before taking to two wheels and cycling to Cerveny Klastor (Red
Monastery). The monastery was home to a monk called Cyprian who invented the
hang-glider and established the first pharmacy in Central Europe. In the late
afternoon we drive to the village of Tatranska Lomnica located in the heart of the
High Tatras, our home for the next five days. Meals included:
Day 4: Cable car to Skalnate Pleso for spectacular views, hiking to Hrebienok with
waterfalls and legendary mountain huts en-route. This morning we take a cable car
to Skalnate Pleso (1751m). Look out for Tatra chamois bouncing around on the
rocks below! Take a moment to admire the vista, before a family-friendly trek to
Hrebienok. En-route you’ll visit mountain huts and the cascading waterfalls of
Studeny Potok (Cold Creek). As you walk, the guide will keep the kids entertained
with fun games and quizzes about the picturesque and interesting environs. A final
funicular ride takes you to Stary Smokovec, the oldest village in the Tatras. From
here we take the famous Tatra mountain tram and return back to Tatranska

Day 5: Explore UNESCO sites; Spissky Castle and the medieval town of Levoca,
afternoon down-hill cycling to Kezmarok. A short drive takes us to one of the biggest
castles in Central-Eastern Europe, 12th Century Spissky Castle. It used to be the
political, administrative, economic and cultural centre of this region; a local guide will
walk you through all of the site’s interesting stories, in a way that’ll bring them to life
for the kids. You’ll take a tour of medieval Levoca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
with the highest wooden altar in the world, before our first exhilarating activity. Grab
your bikes and don your helmets for a bike ride to the ancient town of Kezmarok.
Kids (and big kids!) will love the freedom of zipping downhill through mountains and
valleys in an area renowned for its wildlife and flora. Meals included: Breakfast Hotel

Day 6: Treetop walk in Belianske Tatras, afternoon horse and carriage tour of Zdiar
village and picnic in the forest. Get a unique, bird’s eye view of beautiful Pieniny
National Park on a treetop walk. The 600 metre long walkway takes you through the
forest to an observation tower, where you can keep watch for rare and exciting
wildlife. Next, take a mountain ridge walk to the village of Zdiar where you’ll learn
about the local way-of-life, before a horse and carriage ride in the forest and
unforgettable Slovak-style barbecue on an open fire. Meals included: Breakfast,

Day 7: Free day for optional day tours to thermal pools, caves or even Strbske Pleso,
Slovakia´s highest village. Today is a free day so you can spend time as a family, or
with your new-found sporting friends. Choose from caves and castles, hot springs in
the foothills of the Tatra Mountains, or a trip to the highest village in Slovakia,
Strbske Pleso, home to a beautiful mountain lake. Definitely one for the kids, we can
also help you arrange a day trip to Aqua City in nearby Poprad – a full-on water park
with thermal pools, plus slides and shoots twisting and turning all over the place!
This evening your tour leader will arrange a farewell dinner, so you can indulge in
sweets and treats before heading home tomorrow!
